Review: Magnolia Wine Kitchen

Walking into Magnolia Wine Kitchen felt like walking into Pinterest paradise. The decorations, menus and food all looked like they came straight from a Pinterest board. Everything was very cute, classy and sophisticated.

The atmosphere of Magnolia Wine Kitchen is unlike any restaurant I have been in. The restaurant had floor to ceiling windows, which made the lighting very natural and relaxing. The tables were big and accompanied by large, comfortable chairs. This is a perfect place to go wind down and relax after a long day at work.

The food menus are like works of art. The menus are adorned with cute fonts and graphics, which made it visually appealing to the eye. The drink menu was printed on note cards and had fonts that looked handwritten.

Magnolia Wine Kitchen offers a happy hour every weekday. For $5 each, you can get four different appetizers and a glass of their house wine, sangria or craft beer. Being a college student, I am always attracted to happy hour deals that help me save money.

I tried the Truffle Fries, Hummus Trio and Margarita Flatbread off their happy hour menu.

My favorite of the appetizers was the Truffle Fries. They were the most decadent fries I had ever had before. They were crispy and sprinkled with truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. The tangy taste of the oil mixed with the cheese was a perfect combination. These fries are a great value because the portion size is big, and they have very rich, indulgent ingredients.

When I looked at the menu, I was immediately drawn to one thing: Spin Dip Rangoons. Considering spinach dip and crab rangoons are my main two food groups, I was very excited to try this interesting dish.  It came out looking exactly like a crab rangoon, but it was filled with spinach dip and it came with soy sauce. The rangoons were perfectly crispy. They were plump and full of a rich, creamy, tangy filling. Whether you like spinach dip, crab rangoons or both, you will love this appetizer.

The Cranberry Salmon Salad was a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth. The salmon was glazed with a brown sugar dill glaze that made it crunchy on the outside, but it was so tender it melted in my mouth. The portions were big and made the price point good. The flavors of the salmon, spring greens, dried cranberries, apple slices, toasted pecans and citrus vinaigrette dressing is something I would recommend for anyone. The flavor of the salad paired well with the flavor of the red house wine.

This restaurant would be the perfect place for a brunch, so I was disappointed to learn that they do not offer brunch on weekends. But after speaking to the new executive chef, Ashley, I was excited to learn that they will start offering brunch soon.

Magnolia Wine Kitchen is amazing. Everything was on point. The staff was amazing and made this a very enjoyable place to eat. I was not able to pick out a favorite out of all the dishes I ate, which is very rare when I go out to eat. I heartily recommend Magnolia Wine Kitchen.
