Why Do You Play?
It’s no secret that athletics is one of Grand View’s selling points. Student athletes face many challenges and make sacrifices in order to play the sports they love. Viewfinder set out to ask individual athletes ‘Why do they play?’ Alessandro Venditti is a soccer player from South Africa who came to GV to pursue his dream. Cole Bouchard is a basketball player from Iowa who is truly in love with the game of basketball and plays in spite of adversity. Marlene Avila is a wrestler from Texas who left her family and friends to become one of GV’s first female wrestlers in history.
