COVID’s Lighter Side

COVID-19 has been synonymous with crises — from hospital crises to the toilet paper crisis. This has led to many attempts to lighten the subject with memes relating to the pandemic. Here are a few of the best so far.

The amount of people unemployed has led to many families living together 24/7. It has also led to many individuals being very bored. Well-known Youtuber Kurt Tocci made a “music” video using Disney movies to remind you of what you should be doing and not doing during this time.

Tocci is not the only one bringing out the humor in this pandemic. Twitter has had a big boost in memes meant to brighten everyone’s day.

As you can see many people are upset they aren’t able to see their friends during this time. This has resulted in a lot of comedy among college and high school students, especially graduating seniors who didn’t know they were saying there last goodbyes in March.

People have even made recreations of famous book titles and dolls. As pictured below, Barbie now resembles what people are doing in their homes and what they’re wearing on a daily basis. Similarly, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Suess got a COVID-related update.

Some have even made quarantine a game by creating many bingo templates on Instagram.

As refreshing as it is to get comic relief through this stressful period, remember to stay on the lookout for serious news and articles that further explain what we can do to stay healthy and keep others healthy as well.
