China to America: A New World

A few of the students enjoying their stay.

Nine Chinese students are at Grand View University to experience the American “college life.” When these students first started their college journey in China, they were required to adopt an American first name (of their choice), but a last name was not a requirement for them. Winnie, Neysa, Ivy, Perry, Julia, Pippin, Martin, Juan arrived right before Thanksgiving and were excited for the rest of their stay. We sat down at dinner and lunch with them to get to ask a few questions about their stay so far.

“I did not have any stereotypes before I came to America, but [America] is much different from our country — like drinking water from the tap.” —Ivy
