“The Outsider” (Stephen King)
Our favorite horror and science-fiction author strikes again with “The Outsider,” a novel that brings readers into the investigation of a horrifying crime. The corpse of an 11-year-old boy is found in a public park in Flint City, Michigan. Terry Maitland, one of the most popular town citizens, is arrested. All the evidence seems to confirm detective Ralph Anderson’s intuition, and the case looks as good as closed. However, Maitland has an alibi. As the investigation continues, the ugly truth starts to reveal itself. The author of “The Shining,” “It” and “The Stand” takes readers into a plot filled with unbearable suspense. Hold your breath: “The Outsider” will be available on May 22.

“The President Is Missing” (Bill Clinton and James Patterson)
Bestselling author James Patterson teams up with Bill Clinton, our 42nd president, to bring us a political thriller, which reveals what only a president can know. For what possible reason would the president disappear? Patterson delivers suspenseful writing backed by a former president’s knowledge of White House secrets. “The President Is Missing” has an anticipated release date of June 4.

“A Little Too Bright” (Samuel Miller)
Samuel Miller makes his debut with this intriguing novel about Arthur, a man who lives in the shadow of his grandfather’s success as an author. Arthur is at his breaking point as he gets his college scholarship pulled and is sent to live with his aunt and uncle. He discovers his grandfather’s old journal and dives into it, and is convinced that the journal contains clues on the obscure death of his grandfather. In addition, Arthur ends up meeting a mysterious girl who, like him, lives a life full of secrets and unsolved mysteries. Samuel Miller immerses the reader in the psychology of a depressed college student and takes them on Arthur’s journey to find the answers he’s looking for. “A Little Too Bright” will be in stores on May 8.

“God Save Texas” (Lawrence Wright)
Well-known author of “The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11” and writer for The New Yorker, Lawrence Wright brings us a controversial new edition. “God Save Texas” takes the reader into “the heart of Trump-land” and describes the struggle with diversity in Texas. Wright shows how the economic model of Texas produced extraordinary growth but drastically increased income disparities. This political nonfiction book will shock American readers and light up its international audience as it portrays Texas as President Donald Trump’s perfect vision of the United States. “God Save Texas” will be released April 17.

“Calypso” (David Sedaris)
Prominent American humorist David Sedaris sets his intellectual sights on middle age and mortality. While humor and mortality are not a popular pair, Sedaris will manage to make you laugh through this new collection, his finest oxymoron. He will turn the darkest, coldest situations into warm, light laughers. Hang on tight as you ride Sedaris’s rollercoaster. This new collection will make your heart flip. “Calypso” will be available in stores and online May 29.

“A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership” (James Comey)
Former director of the FBI James Comey reveals the most secret experiences of his career inside the American Government. This writing will touch on the change of The George W. Bush administration’s torture and electronic surveillance policies, Clinton’s e-mail investigation, President Trump’s relationship with Russia and more controversial cases. Set to be released April 17, Comey’s book will confront the definition of ethical behavior and give an extraordinary lesson on effective leadership.
From political and controversial nonfiction to breathtaking thrillers and comedies, this list of upcoming summer releases will enrich your summer. This multi-genre selection will meet the needs of a broad audience. As you hang at the beach or comfortably in a hammock, these authors will provide you with everything and anything you’re looking for in a summer reading list.
